Dog Lovers Can Sign Up for Virtual Run with Proceeds to Benefit PEDIGREE Foundation’s Disaster Relief Efforts & Annual Grants
Nashville, TN – July 30, 2020 - The Mars Petcare 14th Annual St. Patrick’s Music City Run that had been rescheduled for Saturday, October 17th at Nissan Stadium will now go 100% Virtual. Dog lovers can participate in the virtual race by signing up at www.StPatricksNashville.com and then running at their own convenience, distance and location any time between October 16th through October 25th. The event will benefit PEDIGREE Foundation’s disaster relief efforts and annual shelter and rescue grants. PEDIGREE Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that is dedicated to ending pet homelessness by supporting shelters and rescue organizations throughout the United States with grants.
October is Dog Adoption Awareness month and to raise awareness and support of the work that shelters and rescues do across the country, PEDIGREE Foundation is asking local runners to go online to register for the Virtual Run to help support the cause.
“We’d love to have the community support this Virtual Run to help dogs in need across the country,” said Deb Fair, Executive Director of PEDIGREE Foundation. “Now more than ever, shelters are in need of support due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Running virtually in this race is one way we can all work together to raise additional funds to get more dogs adopted.”
Team Magic took over management and race production of this event in 2015 and the organization is hopeful to continue the St. Patrick’s Music City Run tradition in downtown Nashville again in March of 2021.
“We are going green this October! We were thrilled with the registration numbers for our St. Patrick’s race and we expect the same kind of support for this Virtual Run,” said Faye Yates, Owner/Director of Team Magic. “We are also excited to have Fleet Feet Nashville as our partner in the event as our host of shirt and medal pick up, as well as special prizes for our virtual runners.”
Virtual runners are encouraged to share their photos, especially running with their dogs, and use the hashtag #MCRun when sharing online.

About PEDIGREE Foundation
We believe every dog deserves a loving, forever home. PEDIGREE Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to help end pet homelessness. Nearly 3.5 million dogs end up in shelters and rescues every year, and nearly half never find a home. The foundation was established in 2008 by Mars Petcare, maker of PEDIGREE® food for dogs, to help increase dog adoption rates. We’ve awarded more than 5,500 grants and $8 million to U.S. shelters and rescues that help dogs in need.
