Proceeds will Benefit PEDIGREE Foundation Efforts to End Pet Homelessness
Nashville, TN – October 1, 2020 - This year the Mars Petcare 14th Annual St. Patrick’s Music City Run will be 100% virtual. Dog lovers can participate in the virtual race, originally scheduled around St. Patrick’s Day, by signing up at www.StPatricksNashville.com and then run or walk at their own convenience, distance, and location any time between October 16th through October 25th.
The event will benefit PEDIGREE Foundation’s disaster relief efforts and annual shelter and rescue grants. PEDIGREE Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that is dedicated to ending pet homelessness by supporting shelters and rescue organizations throughout the United States with grants. PEDIGREE Foundation receives a portion of every registration and 100% of proceeds from the one-mile wag ‘n walk goes directly to helping homelessness dogs in need.
103.3 FM country will help kickoff the event on-air with a Facebook LIVE event on Friday, October 16th at 10:00am CST. Rising country artist Erin Kinsey will sing the National Anthem along with interviews with Race Director, Faye Yates and PEDIGREE Foundation’s Executive Director, Deb Fair.
“Pets bring so many benefits to our lives, and during this time of COVID, it’s more important now than ever. People everywhere are turning to pets for comfort and support, so by giving a dog a loving home, we are actually doing a favor for ourselves, too,” said Deb Fair, Executive Director of PEDIGREE Foundation. “This is why we are so excited to partner with Team Magic again on this year’s race to provide funds to help shelters and dogs in need across the country.”
Team Magic took over management and race production of this event in 2015 and the organization is hopeful to continue the St. Patrick’s Music City Run tradition in downtown Nashville again in March of 2021. Virtual runners are encouraged to share their photos, especially running with their dogs, and use the hashtag #MCRun, #Run4Rescue and #DogsRule when sharing online.

About PEDIGREE Foundation
We believe every dog deserves a loving, forever home. PEDIGREE Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to help end pet homelessness. Nearly 3.5 million dogs end up in shelters and rescues every year, and nearly half never find a home. The foundation was established in 2008 by Mars Petcare, maker of PEDIGREE® food for dogs, to help increase dog adoption rates. We’ve awarded more than 5,500 grants and $8 million to U.S. shelters and rescues that help dogs in need. At PEDIGREE Foundation, we’re working toward a day when all dogs are safe, secure, cared for, fed well and loved. See how you can help: www.PEDIGREEFoundation.org.
